NANCY S. CLEVELAND
Nancy Cleveland is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Sustrana. She leads content and tool development for Sustrana's unique software platform, engaging with both the subject matter and developer teams. Nancy focuses on delivering a streamlined and accessible product based on user feedback. She has extensive experience in enabling businesses to realize performance improvements through sustainability best practices.
Prior to co-founding Sustrana, Nancy served as Senior Vice President and Director of Sustainability for Equus Capital Partners, Ltd., a national real estate investment and development company. Before redirecting her career to sustainability, Nancy was a successful real estate and telecommunications attorney with twenty six years of experience, including management positions as a partner with the Philadelphia-based regional law firm Saul Ewing LLP.
Nancy is co-chair of the Governance and Sustainability joint sub-committee of the American Bar Association's Business Law Section. In this capacity, she writes and speaks on a variety of sustainability matters related to corporate governance, investing, and reporting. She holds the Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA) Credential from the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), is a LEED® Accredited Professional and a Green Globes® Professional, and has successfully completed The Sustainability Consortium Service Provider and the GRI G4 reporting guidelines training and examination programs.
JENNIFER K. ANDERSON
Jennifer Anderson is the Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of Sustrana, focused primarily on customer service and business development. She has substantial hands on experience in the development and implementation of corporate sustainability strategies and programs. Jennifer combines this broad sustainability knowledge with a background in both private and social sector business management to help companies integrate sustainability into management practices.
Prior to co-founding Sustrana, Jennifer was a co-founder and partner of Duden Anderson LLP, a management consulting firm specializing in strategic planning and financial and organizational systems optimization for social sector businesses. Over the past 22 years, she has also worked for several well-known and respected regional organizations such as SEI Investments, Fox Chase Cancer Center, and Mercy Health System. In 2008 she worked with a team to co-found Profitable Pathways to Sustainability, a business leadership network operating out of the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia.
Jennifer is a Senior Certified Sustainability Professional and holds a certificate in Greenhouse Gas Accounting from the GHGMI. She is an advisory board member for the Corporate Responsibility Association (CRA) and a finance committee member the Sustainable Business Network of Philadelphia.
RON MICHAEL ZETTLEMOYER
Ron Michael Zettlemoyer is the Chief Technology Officer of Sustrana. Ron leads Sustrana's engineering team in building, testing, and bringing to market Sustrana's software platform. With a keen focus on usability, Ron builds Sustrana software to accelerate and streamline sustainability efforts and deliver on the efficiency promise of information technology. Ron is also responsible for the systems that manage Sustrana's day-to-day operations and Internet presence.
Ron has over 17 years of information technology and software development leadership. At Honeywell International he was responsible for managing the in-house design and development of the platform that managed their Industrial Control division’s service operations. After Honeywell, he co-founded Byzet and then Fynydd, two Philadelphia-based boutique software consultancies.
Janet Williams specializes in developing, and works with customers on, Sustrana's products and services related to supply chain management and sustainability-related policies. Janet has substantial knowledge of multiple sustainability standards (including most notably STARS® and LEED®) and evaluating an organization's status against those standards. She has additional expertise in sustainability for higher education institutions and has worked extensively on developing products and services for colleges and universities, including Sustrana’s STARS® Report Check Service and STARS® Verification Service. Janet is also a LEED® Green Associate.
Prior to joining Sustrana, Janet served as Senior Assistant Regional Counsel at the US Environmental Protection Agency Region III. Janet is also an experienced educator, having taught secondary level Social Studies in Cambridge, Massachusetts, New York City, and London. She is the co-founder of the Green Schools Resource Center, a non-profit organization focused on promoting sustainability in K-12 schools.
Stanly Abraham has over 20 years of experience in information technology and software development. He is an MCSD.Net and Salesforce Platform Developer 1 certified professional. With considerable skills in developing web applications, Stanly is a valued member of the Sustrana SaaS product development team.
Prior to joining Sustrana, Stanly was a Senior Developer with Toll Brothers, creating enterprise web applications as well as Salesforce applications, including customer satisfaction surveys. Prior to that he worked at Harris Computers (a division of Constellation Software Inc.) as a Senior Software Developer, where he led development of custom financial web applications and a query tool for the company’s schools division. Stanly also gained several years of experience as a Systems Engineer at ECRI Institute, a healthcare industry non-profit organization, where he was responsible for developing web applications, including a health devices alerts tracker that helps hospitals track medical device recalls in a timely manner.
MELANIE P. SCHMIDT
Melanie Schmidt focuses on improving Sustrana’s market presence by cultivating new customers and long-term business relationships. She works to define business goals and identify business opportunities. She monitors current market conditions, and helps Sustrana identify and develop strategic B2B channel partnerships. Melanie has extensive experience in innovating to build market share and create lasting and meaningful business relationships. Her passion for sustainability combined with her background in events, social media, product development, and communications bring a unique skill set to the Sustrana team.
Prior to Sustrana, Melanie was the Midwest, Director of Sales for the Convention Board of Toronto, the Global Project Director for the convention center in Munich, and the Director of Sales at A&M, where she focused on helping companies leverage socially responsible meetings to achieve business goals. Melanie is a founding member of the Mid Atlantic Chapter of The Green Meeting Industry Council and holds a BA in Corporate Communications and Business from the College of Charleston.
Kim Quick manages and engages in user relationships to ensure excellent user experiences on the Sustrana platform. Kim has deep experience in developing educational content for the Sustrana platform. She is an expert guide and consulting resource for our users. With a background in designing behavior change campaigns, Kim contributes a wealth of social science insights that enhance users’ day-to-day implementation of Sustrana’s sustainability policies and practices.
Kim holds a BS in Environmental Policy and Management from UNC Asheville and a Masters of Environmental Studies with a concentration in Communication and Education from the University of Pennsylvania. She recently completed her Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology, which supports understanding the psychological dimensions of sustainability challenges and opportunities. Kim teaches a class in Penn’s Masters of Environmental Studies program entitled Leading Change for Sustainability.
Laura Wright focuses on content development and industry analysis for Sustrana's online software product. She manages several databases for Sustrana tools, including the business case builder and project selector. Laura has twenty years of experience in product development in the textile and consumer goods industries. Her background includes both domestic and international manufacturing know-how. She has managed product development processes for global products and lifecycle system implementations.
Laura has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University, a master’s degree in Textile Design from North Carolina State University, and a master’s degree in Sustainable Design from Philadelphia University.
Linda Dowd is responsible for making Sustrana’s day-to-day operations run smoothly. Her passion for process improvement shows as she creates and executes business processes around Human Resources, Finance, and Office Operations. In addition to managing Sustrana’s growing office, Linda is responsible for Sustrana’s BCorp and WBENC re-certifications.
Linda brings a terrific skill set to Sustrana, along with a keen interest in sustainability. She has an undergraduate degree from Babson College, with a double major in Accounting and Entrepreneurial Studies. She gained extensive work experience in both Finance and HR Operations while at GlaxoSmithKline, where she earned her Corporate HR certificate and Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma. She earned her CPA while working at Ernst & Young.
Jenny Hoffman is part of the team of developers building new content, tools, and functionality on the Sustrana platform. She participates in phases of product development, including functionality design and user experience considerations, and provides pre-release testing for the team. Jenny developed her coding skills through self-directed learning over the last four years after a long career in K-12 science in local independent schools and at The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education, including most recently as the chair of the Science Department at The Agnes Irwin School. She brings a wealth of environmental science knowledge as a compliment to her development skills, making her a uniquely valued member of the Sustrana team.
Jenny has a bachelor’s degree in Botany from the University of Massachusetts, and a master’s in Biology from Syracuse University. She was a founding member of the teacher advisory board for the Pennsylvania Earth Science Teachers Association.
Lili Pita utilizes her knowledge of sustainability and business to work with customers as they progress in their sustainability journey. She assists customers in a variety of ways, including with sustainability reports, assessment facilitation, and project selection and management. In addition to working with customers, she assists in developing the educational and instructional content for various tools on the Sustrana platform.
Lili holds a BS in Environmental Technology and Management from North Carolina State University and a Masters of Environmental Management with a concentration on sustainable business from Duke University. She is also trained on the GRI G4 standards.
